My Christmas Vacation

Was incredibly busy!

6 nights in Kansas City
1 night in Des Moines
5 nights in Ames
4 nights in Minneapolis
6 nights in Cedar Falls
1 night in Des Moines
1 night in Ames
4 nights in Minneapolis
2 nights in Des Moines
Back to Spain!

(Brian joined me for the parts in italics... he came to the states a week after I did, and traveled to the south for a week to work at the end of the trip)

I headed straight to Kansas City to spend some time with Harmony & Jeremy, dear friends from college.  Harmony painted the piece of art that is at the bottom of this blog for us a couple of years ago, and I just love it!  They lived in Germany for 5 years after they graduated from college, so it was really good for me to spend a bit of time with them as I transitioned back to visiting the states.

While I was there, I studied, attended their bible study, ate a lot of delicious food, crafted with some of Harmony's friends, had lots of deep conversations, went shopping and hung out with the kids!

I also went to KC to take one of my Architectural Registration Exams, so I spent the large majority of the time I was there studying, but we still managed to have some fun :)  At the end of the week, I took a greyhound bus from KC to Des Moines - don't knock it until you've tried it!  This was my second time on the bus, and it was really great - no driving for me, free wireless, cheaper than a tank of gas... I really have gotten used to public transportation while living here!
